Yoga means to unite oneself with the supreme consciousness through a series of physical and mental transformation. It requires a very hard discipline and practice to reach this stage.
The applied aspect of yoga is its use for the treatment of diseases that enhances the physical and mental energy leading to a self-healing system of the body. The effectiveness of Yoga has been clinically proven for the treatment of diseases by various scientific institutes over the globe.
Psychosomatic ailments are the ailments with responsible factors at body and mind level. Franz Alexander, the father of psychosomatic medicine, described seven classical psychosomatic illnesses. With the growth in Science, many more diseases were added to this list. At present, the list of psychosomatic illnesses is virtually endless and it is difficult to think of a disease that will not fall into the category of psychosomatic illness.
In ancient India, Sage Vasistha in discussion with Lord Rama talks about the concept of adhija-anadhija vyadhi in “Yoga Vasistha” which encompasses the whole concept of psychosomatic ailments. We were blessed with the science of yoga thousands of years back and reaping the benefits to date.
Keeping in mind the benefits of yoga, Prakash Nethralaya is happy to announce the inauguration of “Online Yoga Classes” for the benefits of society. These services not just aim to cater to the specific needs of patients but also focus on overall development at all levels of existence.
